Read MoreTonight's Council Meeting started off with the Environmental Planning Committee addressing plans to have approximately 14 acres of trees to be removed on S.O.M. Center Rd. Based on our city ordinances this is allowed as long as the property owner abides by the city ordinances for clearing and grading. The Finance and Audit Committee started discussions on the 2020 Budget.

Look at the E.A.S. for a proposed project, grading and filling at 30817 Euclid Ave.
A few Economic Development projects addressed were:
Zeppe’s Tavern to be located at 5680 SOM Center, as well as the new Marc’s going into the existing building located at 34881 Euclid Avenue. A new Marc’s location will soon take over the building where the Willoughby Fitworks currently operates. Fitworks CFO and operating owner Patrick Petrecca said he does not know when their 34881 Euclid Ave. location will close, but he said they are currently investigating opportunities to move into another local facility.

The council dealt with a plan to re-submit bids on a major WPCC Capacity Enhancement Project that desperately needs to be addressed. (Water Pollution Control Center). Many of these upgrades are a result of Ohio EPA mandated improvements.

• Waste Removal/Recycling Bids
• There was also legislation dealing with Storm sewer replacement projects at E 364th, E 365th, and Harvard Drive.
• Council also addressed a five-year contract for residential, municipal curbside solid waste, recyclable and yard waste collection and disposal in the City. GOOD NEWS, eligible Condo Associations may be included.

We also recognized the Willoughby Fire Department for their 125 years of service and protection to the residents of the City of Willoughby.
